The Perfect Knot

For many people ties are a thing of the past. Until they have a wedding, graduation, or funeral. Then we need to get our suit and tie together. In my years of tying knots I have seen 4 main ways to tie them that will fill different needs.

Easiest

1.) Simple Knot: Around and threw. This is a skinny knot that is great if you need extra length in your tie. Also easiest knot to start with.

2.) Prince Albert: This is basically the simple knott but instead of around the small end once. You’ll go around twice then through. Creating a small piece of fabric come out the bottom of the knot.

3.) Half Windsor : This is a great knot on the medium end for width. It will look a little lopsided. But is a stable in a lot of Mens artillery when it co,es to tie knots.

Hardest

4.) Full Windsor : This will be great for an interview or any formal event. This knot when done correctly will be even on both sides. Make sure to tighten knot fully and adjust properly when needed.

To wrap things up, I'd say you can never go wrong with a Prince Albert or a full Windsor knot. These are both knots that will set you apart at the special event you are attending. When deciding between what knots to choose. I would ask 3 questions. How much tie length do I need? How wide is my collar? How much do I want to learn?

After asking these questions determining the perfect knot should be easy. Any question feel free to set up a consultation today !
